I have to admit, I’m a very time constraining, sought out planning kinda gal. Time is of the essence and its really important to me to consume my days with as much as I can (within reason). The days just fly by as you know and one thing I do not want to make extra time for is dragging out every smoothie ingredient every morning after my early morning workouts.

So now that Spring is finally here, I want to inspire you to do the same. Put aside 5 minutes (yes thats it!) to meal prep your morning smoothie/smoothies. Meal prepping is key and aids in living a healthy lifestyle. As smoothies can be thought of as mainly fruit based and high in sugar, make sure your prepping your smoothie the nutritious way, with high-protein, high-fibre ingredients only adding extra fruit for sweetness and flavour.

Natura milk is definitely one of my favourite plant-based milks of choice, especially there Vanilla Unsweetened. Made with filtered water, california almonds, vanilla extract and natural flavours making it an excellent source of calcium, vitamin D & B12. Its also very low calorie not to mention it is a satisfying non-dairy way to help stay healthy, happy & strong. Great hot or cold, over cereal, in your favorite recipes or as a dairy free creamer. Highly recommend!

Ok so back to meal prep.

Meal planning and prep has changed drastically since I discovered it existed in 2013! It used to be that I’d prep one easy snack (maybe granola, or even just some hard boiled eggs), and make a full meal or two to share over lunches and dinners.

These days, I find myself putting aside one full morning or afternoon to meal prep for the entire week ahead and because Ive been on such a smoothie kick…

Enter mason jar smoothie packs: Prepped ingredients stored in a jar, (or plastic bag), and put into the freezer for future use. I love them because they save me more time in A.M., AND they keep my produce from spoiling (so you can say bye forever to moldy berries and wilted spinach).

I’ve created 5 amazingly delicious, nutritious, protein packed “slurps” that can be enjoyed after a workout, as your breakfast meal, as an afternoon snack or really anytime your on the-go! Here are the five smoothies I’ve become to love and enjoy over the last few years, rotating them as I go depending on what i feels my body needs or wants that day.

1.) This TURMERIC SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE is made with frozen mango, frozen pineapple, filtered water, 0% All Natural SKYR Icelandic Yogourt, ground turmeric and cinnamon. Giving you 100% of the daily vitamin C you need, it’s also high in protein, low in fat and contains a natural medicinal boost of iron as well as anti-inflammatory & anti-oxidant properties from the turmeric and ground cinnamon. I like to top this one with bee pollen, goji berries, toasted coconuts, and hemp seeds.

2.) My NATURALLY NATALIE RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE which is made with my all time favourite ingredient, Banana! Some frozen raspberries, plant-based unsweetened vanilla almond milk, avocado, 0% All Natural SKYR Icelandic Yogourt, ground ginger and of course a big honkin’ scoop of my go-to Vanilla flavoured Clean Lean Pea Protein from Nuzest . This Smoothie is definitely one of my favourites after a good sweaty workout as its packed with protein and healthy carbs & fats from the banana and avocado. It’s filling and absolutely delicious, I never want it to end! I like to top it with some more raspberries, a few pipits (pumpkin seeds) and a sprinkle of hemp seeds.

3.) ULTIMATE GREEN SMOOTHIE is being steadily blended these days. Let’s just say, my hubby who was never a smoothie guy just can’t get enough! Its too delicious to even describe and a must try for anyone feeling like all smoothies are boring! I promise your life will be forever changed! Made with plant-based milk, the queen of green Spinach, broccoli (which contains 90% water), pineapple, creamy banana, a dollop of my fav of all nut butters, the powerhouse seed Chia, and dietary high fibre ground flax. It wouldn’t be the same without a big ol’ scoop of my Nuzest Vanilla Pea Protein to top it all off! (*if you don’t have Nuzest I recommend using a vanilla plant based protein in substitution*) I LOVE topping this smoothie with another half of a banana, a fig, some buckwheat groats and a drizzle of nut butter.

4.) CLASSIC CAULIFLOWER BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE which was totally inspired by @rachlmansfield however I have since tweeked it up to my tastebuds and being as obsessed as I am with banana’s (and its banana-less) I was skeptical to even try it at first. It’s really weird to admit it but you won’t miss it! Made with the obvs. Cauliflower which has been ranked as one of the healthiest foods on the planet being as it is so high in Vitamin C, low in fat and has many health benefits. Blueberries are another main ingredient and I typically use frozen wild blueberries as they are loaded with antioxidants and low calorie as well. Some other add ins are a tablespoon of nut butter to keep me fuelled and to incorporate some healthy fats, plant-based milk, and hemp seeds which are high in fibre protein. I Like to top this smoothie with some more blueberries, some pumpkin seeds, unsweetened coconut flakes and a drizzle of nut butter.

5.) Lastly that Smoothie right there in the middle A.K.A THE SMOOTHIE OF LOVE which has been going strong for quite some time and is more of a summer time afternoon snack smoothie for me. Its so refreshing and hydrating. Made with Beet which is a root vegetable high in iron and dietary fibre, raspberries which are an excellent antioxidant not to mention they are low cal, low sugar and high in vitamin C. I also have a little banana for creaminess, some filtered water for more hydration and of course some blueberries and hemp seeds. I don’t typically top this one with anything I just drink as is.
