These past few weeks have been slightly overkill with my “to-do” list piling up higher and higher with just you know… “things”! From trying to develop new fall recipes, finding the time to cook & bake them, making sure I am consistently posting on social media and my blog as much as I can in the amount of time I have per week. Also trying to stay focused and remembering to take a few hours to myself each day to have a good sweat, do some household necessities and of course take care of my pooch & my lovely husband 🙂
Time… it’s constantly flying! Honestly, the days go by in a flash and to me the scariest part is not accomplishing everything on my “to-do” list… which in all reality can be very stressful. I work as hard as I can to try and make my blog look and feel amazing, with the reminder in my brain that perfection shouldn’t always be the number one ingredient when it comes to creating recipes, editing photos, and writing up posts…. sometimes imperfection is what you need. Do what you can and don’t get down on yourself when something isn’t as perfect as you wanted it to be, life isn’t perfect… and neither are you. So get up, do what you intended to do with as much poise and determination in your body & mind that you can handle on any given day. Don’t forget to be proud of yourself and remember if you’re lucky enough, there is always tomorrow.
So this week being as crazy as it was with the holidays around the corner I tried to take in more of what I love doing on the side of my blog which is having some extra “me” time, spending extra time with my pooch and of course having one single full day of doing absolutely nothing with Jordan. Not having to rush anywhere or be on a time restricted schedule which unfortunately is what this life is entirely made up of nowadays.
Monday was a very special time for us. We decided to wake up and whip up some homemade pancakes, sip on umpteen amounts of coffee, chat the morning away, go for a brisk but lovely fall walk with our pooch taking in all of the amazing sights & colours of my absolute FAV season, and then spent the afternoon with family gabbing and eating away a beautiful meal for Thanksgiving. I am ever so grateful today to have done those things this past weekend and I hope you all got to do the same!
